Anselmo-Merna, Mullen, and Sandhills Valley Compete at Paxton Track Invite

Anselmo-Merna, Mullen, and Sandhills Valley were among the teams that competed at the Paxton track invite on Thursday.  Sandhills Valley was runner-up in the boys team standings behind team champion Wallace.  Mullen placed 6th and Anselmo-Merna was 7th in the final boys team standings.  Maywood Hayes Center won the girls team title.  AM finished 5th, Mullen was 6th, and Sandhills Valley tied for 8th.

Among the area highlights, Tad Dimmitt of Sandhills Valley swept the throwing events with a winning effort of 48’3.5″ in the shot put and 147’8″ in the discus.  Sandhills Valley also won the boys 4×800 meter relay.  The team of Colin Rooney, Leyton Connell, Jared Trimble, and Isaac Goosey posted a winning time of 9:18.65.  Trevor Kuncl and Clayton Moore of Mullen each won gold.  Kuncl was first in the 800 with a time of 2:07.62 and Moore was first in the boys 110 meter high hurdles with a winning time of 15.84 seconds.  Wyatt Lambertson of Anselmo-Merna was champion of the boys long jump with an effort of 20’8.75″.

Haley Wells of Anselmo-Merna was champion of the girls 3200 meter run in a winning time of 13:34.17.  Carlee Bartak of Anselmo-Merna won the girls triple jump with an effort of 32’4.25″ and AM also won the girls 4×100 meter relay.  The team of Grace Cantrell, Koral Schmidt, Makenna Miller, and Jaide Chandler posted a winning time of 54.5 seconds.  Shelby Welsh of Mullen won the girls long jump with an effort of 16’2″.
