The Anselmo-Merna volleyball team started the season 2-0 as they picked up back to back wins over Twin Loup and Ansley/Litchfield at the triangular played in Sargent Thursday night. In the opening match of the night, AM defeated Twin Loup in straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-21. Kourtney Safranek had 5 kills and Taylan Myers 4 while Alexis Zimmer contributed 10 set assists. The Lady Coyotes followed that up with a straight set win over Ansley/Litchfield 25-20, 25-23. MaShayla Burnett and Taylan Myers each had 5 kills in the match. In the final match of the triangular, Twin Loup and Ansley/Litchfield went all three sets. Twin Loup won the first set 25-22 but the Lady Spartans came back to win set 2 25-23 and won the third 25-21.
Broken Bow improved to 3-0 with a straight set win over Gothenburg. The scores went 25-19, 25-23, 25-18. Bow will compete at the Lexington Invitational Saturday where they will meet St. Paul in the opening round.
