The brackets have been released for the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference girls and boys basketball tournaments which begin Saturday and continue through next week. Mullen is the top seed in both the girls and boys tournaments. Anselmo-Merna is the #2 seed in the girls tournament and Sandhills Valley is the #2 seed in the boys.
Tournament play begins on Saturday with four games to be played in Arthur. In the girls bracket, Twin Loup will play Hyannis and Brady will play Sandhills Valley. In the boys bracket, Brady will play Twin Loup and Arthur County will face Cody-Kilgore.
The girls tournament will then continue on Monday (1/25) with games to be played in Mullen and Merna. In Mullen, Arthur County will play Sandhills/Thedford at 5:30 (central) followed by Mullen against the winner of Brady/Sandhills Valley. In Merna, South Loup will play Cody-Kilgore at 5:30 (central) followed by Anselmo-Merna against the winner of Twin Loup/Hyannis.
The boys tournament continues on Tuesday (1/26) with games to be played in Mullen and Stapleton. In Mullen, Sandhills/Thedford will play Hyannis at 5:30 (central) followed by Mullen vs the winner of Brady/Twin Loup. In Stapleton, South Loup will play Anselmo-Merna at 5:30 followed by Sandhills Valley vs the winner of Arthur County/Cody-Kilgore.
The girls and boys semifinals will take place Thursday (1/28) at North Platte Community College. Consolation games will be played on Friday (1/29) with the 3rd place consolation and championship games played Saturday (1/30) at NPCC.
