2021 Heartland Hoops Classic Adds Matchup Between Bellevue West and Sunrise Christian

The lineup for the 2021 Heartland Hoops Classic continues to take shape.  2020 Class A state champion Bellevue West will make its first appearance in the Heartland Hoops Classic in Grand Island next season.  Organizers made the announcement this week via Twitter.

The Thunderbirds will play frequent guest Sunrise Christian from suburban Wichita, Kansas, on Feb. 13. Sunrise Christian played in Grand Island this past season, beating Maryland’s Bishop Walsh to improve its Heartland Hoops record to 3-1.  Sunrise Christian finished the season ranked in the top 5 nationally.  Bellevue West is led by Wisconsin recruit Chucky Hepburn.

According to the Omaha World Herald, Class A runner-up Millard North will also play in the classic against a yet to be determined opponent.

Earlier it was announced that the Mullen Broncos will be a part of next year’s classic.  Mullen was a state tournament qualifier this past season and is scheduled to play Loomis in the event.  It was also announced that there will be a meeting between the 2020 Class C1 state champion Auburn and the 2020 Class C2 state champion BRLD.

The classic is scheduled for February 13, 2021 at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island
