Western Iowa woman charged with 2 felonies after 8-year-old daughter’s death

A Glenwood, Iowa, woman has been charged with two felonies in connection with the death of her 8-year-old daughter.
According to the Mills County Attorney’s Office, Misty Dawn Frazier, 34, is charged with child endangerment resulting in death and distributing a drug to a minor without prescription. She is being held in the Mills County Jail on $35,000 bail pending her initial appearance, which could be as soon as today. The girl’s name was not released. Glenwood police arrested Frazier without incident.
The child was pronounced dead at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs after being taken there following a 911 call in Glenwood on Oct. 19, 2016. The cause of death was listed as Amitriptyline toxicity. Amitriptyline is an antidepressant. It was found in the child’s system during the autopsy.
