West Pawnee Park Concrete Paving and More go out for Bid

COLUMBUS - The Columbus City Council approved advertising for bids on a paving project for local streets, estimated to cost $975,000 . The project includes paving for west Pawnee Park on the remaining non-concrete roads, the shoofly northwest of Memorial Stadium, and Kozy Drive from Armory Drive north to the existing concrete paving, says city documents. The current asphalt road in Pawnee Park will be milled, recycled, and reused by the city at a later time for a separate project, said city officials. Councilwoman Beth Augustine-Shulte also asked City Engineer Rick Bogus about the timetable for 3rd Avenue South of 8th Street, during Monday night's meeting. Bogus said the project will most likely begin in late-2019 or 2020. Bogus said the reason for the project being pushed back is due to it being almost completely funded by non-city dollars.
