Adam and Amy Koehn of Vang’s Village Shoppe traveled more than 50 miles on Friday morning to join the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce.

Vang’s Village Shoppe is located in Scotia, Nebraska where visitors can find fresh baked goods, homemade tortillas, gummis, chocolates, frozen fruit, spices, local eggs, sewing notions, fabric, and much more. Probably one of the most popular treats is the selection of fresh cheese brought in from Wisconsin. Flavors include copepperjack, pepperjack, Colby, cheddar, mozzarella, sharp cheddar, Swiss, and more.

Adam’s mom Evangela began the business three years ago. Growing up, she often went by Vang (pronounced van-ge). Now, Amy and Adam, who have been married for two years, hope to expand business to Broken Bow and the surrounding area. Throughout the summer and fall, Amy brought treats to the local farmers market in town.

The couple said they attended the Custer County Home show last year and then looked into the farmers market at the recommendation of their friends Ray and Connie Squier of the Custer County Garden Center. The Garden Center hosted Vang’s ribbon cutting on Friday and will be the drop-off location once a month for deliveries to Broken Bow.

“We wanted to have a route here and we figured the chamber would be a good way to advertise around this area,” Adam Koehn said.

“Our most busy season would be the holidays,” Amy Koehn said.

With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, anyone interested in learning more about Vang’s tasty treats should call 308-245-3117 or email [email protected].
