The Nebraska One Box Pheasant Hunt hosts hunters from all over the country for three days of shooting competitions, hunting activities, award banquets, and social events. The One Box Hunt Board has planned for a successful 2018 hunt and celebration! Seven new teams will compete for bragging rights again this year. The hunt also hosts several past shooters teams each year.
Because of money that the hunt generates more than $385,000 have been awarded to local scholars since 1981. Beginning with two $300 scholarships in 1981, the program has grown to give four recipients $1000 each year. Several other scholarships are given through the One Box Foundation totaling approximately $12,500 annually. These scholarships provide financial aid and incentive to area high school seniors seeking a post-secondary degree.
This event would not be possible without the generosity of the community, team contributions, business donations, team hosts, and the many volunteers make this annual event a success.
