Weathercraft Roofing Receives GROW Award
Deb Kennedy presents Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce GROW Award to Joe Staroska, Scott Erickson, and Russ Simmons of Weathercraft Roofing on Thursday afternoon

BROKEN BOW—A brand new building now stands in Broken Bow but houses a company that has been in the area since 1976. Weathercraft Roofing is now located at 638 Kiowa Lane (just east of the Garden Center) and received a Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce GROW Award on Thursday afternoon.

Owners Joe Staroska and Scott Erickson, both of North Platte, purchased the company from Scott’s dad, Alan Erickson in 2004. Alan Erickson began the company more than 40 years ago and there are now 14 locations throughout Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Nebraska.

The Broken Bow location of Weathercraft Roofing was previously located in the Arrow Hotel and on D Street before the new building was erected in the last year. Staroska said he has always enjoyed doing business in Broken Bow and was eager to look for a different location in order to expand business after new housing was developed near the previous location.

Erickson said on Thursday afternoon that the staff was pleased working with local partners to establish the new facility and have been busy during the last few years after summer hail storms.

Weathercraft Roofing provides materials and services for commercial and residential roofing, Overhead Door garage doors, siding, and gutters.

Staroska and Erickson thanked Russ Simmons, the Broken Bow facility office manager, and his family for their support of the company, the local community, and recent business growth.

Russ has worked in sales for Weathercraft since 2010.

“This new building is great; it gives us a chance to just be in one place to have all of our shingles and all of our material and just have the property and the space to really provide the community with something nice,” Simmons said.
