Weather Symposium in Dunning March 16

DUNNING–Region 26 Emergency Management and 911 from Taylor have postponed the Weather Symposium for the area residents at the Sandhills Public School (107 Gandy Ave, Dunning, NE 68833)

UPDATE as of Friday, March 16th morning: Symposium in Dunning postponed due to weather. A new date has not yet been set.

There will be numerous vendor booths to visit throughout the afternoon and evening. The weather service will give presentations and show storm films on past tornadoes–and where to watch in a cloud to see a tornado.

The booths in the gym and weather information in the media room will include Preparedness in a Disaster, Meet the 911 Dispatchers, How to become a HAM Radio Operator, Registering for CodeRED Warning Calls, and How to become a Volunteer in a Disaster. The Local Emergency Planning Committee booth will tell you what it means to shelter-in-place and items to put in a disaster kit.

There will be a poster display of the area, severe weather poster contest winners, and also a Kids Corner with fun things to do including making a 911 call. There will be food and door prizes throughout the event.

Region 26 in Taylor invites you to head over to check out the Weather Symposium. Admission is free for all ages.

Region 26 will be having a second Symposium in Loup City this year at the Community Center (803 O St, Loup City, NE 68853) on Saturday, April 7 from 1 to 5 p.m.
