Walz Concrete and Construction Celebrates Ribbon Cutting in Callaway
Walz Inc., specializing in concrete, celebrated a ribbon cutting in Callaway on March 13.

CALLAWAY—Walz Concrete and Construction is ready for business in central Nebraska! The Callaway Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting on Friday, March 13 at 109 South Grand in Callaway.

Trent and Kelli Walz, along with their daughters, celebrated the ribbon cutting ceremony on a snowy afternoon complete with homemade cookies provided by Kelli, popcorn, and drinks.

Trent and his dad, Paul Walz, have worked in the concrete construction business together since Trent graduated high school. Trent has worked in concrete for 20 years and also has four years of experience in the oil field.

Trent and Paul started out of Valentine but Kelli Walz said they recently purchased the building in Callaway, formerly an auto body repair shop.

In an interview with KCNI/KBBN, Trent Walz said he stays busy traveling for work with the Nebraska Department of Roads and other miscellaneous concrete projects.

“We mainly work for the department of roads–we do a lot of subcontracting through them–sidewalks, roads, pretty much we do everything,” Trent Walz said. “If it involves concrete I can do it.”

Kelli is in her seventh year of teaching at Callaway Public Schools where she teaches Family and Consumer Sciences. She and Trent have four daughters ages one to nine.

“It is really exciting. You know, every year is a little different as far as where they’re headed or what they’re doing so it adds a little excitement to my life,” Kelli Walz said.
