USDA Meal Program Extended To The End Of 2020 For Student Breakfast And Lunches

According to a press release from Anselmo-Merna Public Schools, the USDA has extended it’s Summer Meal Program through December 31, 2020.  This means that all Anselmo-Merna students will be able to eat breakfast and lunch each day for free through the end of 2020.  If you would like to learn more about the USDA’s decision, and additional details, please click here to read their Press Release.  This will positively affect our reduced-price and full-pay students.

A-M will be retroactively applying for this program.  This means that, beginning on September 1, 2020, any money that a student(s) spent on primary breakfasts and lunches (this does not include seconds, a la carte, extra milks) will be credited back to their accounts.

All funds will be kept in student meal accounts.  Any funds in a student’s account can be used for a la carte, seconds, or extra milks.  The program only covers one complete breakfast and one complete lunch per student each day.  Extra funds can also be used once this program concludes at the end of first semester.

This program will be for current A-M Mondays-Fridays.  This is a slight change from the summer, when anyone through the age of 18 was eligible for a meal.
