NORFOLK – Authorities say a man on drugs caused a four-vehicle accident that shut down a highway in Norfolk Tuesday.
Norfolk Police say 26-year old Daniel Luken was arrested Tuesday afternoon. Police Captain Michael Bauer says police received a call that Luken had left a business without paying, threatened the clerk with a hammer and fled.
Shortly after that, Police received another call about a four-vehicle accident near the intersection of U.S. Highway 81 and Georgia Avenue. Police say Luken caused the accident by running into the rear of a pickup. He was eventually arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.
Captain Bauer says four people were taken from the scene of the accident to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk with non-life-threatening injuries.
