The 2017 University of Nebraska at Kearney Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Class has been announced.  The inductees include athletes ranging from volleyball to wrestling and track and include athletes from the early 1990’s to the mid 2000’s.

Dr Bryce Abbey is being inducted due to his early 2000’s success on the wrestling mat including four selections to the All-American list.  Erin Haussermann is an obvious choice for induction after helping the Loper volleyball squad to a national runner-up finish and being named the AVCA Division II player of the year amongst a long list of accolades.  Mike Hancock earned his way onto the list due to his sharpshooting basketball career.  Hancock is still the program record holder for career three point shooting and career steals while remaining in the top ten in numerous other categories including scoring.  Allison Monson will be inducted for her contributions to the women’s basketball team where she is one of only two Lady Lopers to be selected a two-time All-American.  Travis Vallin will be inducted as a two sport athlete that shined on both the football field and the track.  His football career is highlighted by career totals of 108 receptions and 1,866 receiving yards while his track and field career includes a 51.95 second time in the 400 Hurdles, which still stands as a school record.
