Two Vehicle Accident Sends One to The Hospital

NORFOLK, NE -- A two vehicle accident shut down part of Madison Avenue on Thursday afternoon. Police were called to 4th and Madison Avenue around 5:00 p.m. after a gold car heading west ran a stop light and collided with a white car that was northbound. Norfolk Police Sergeant, Chad Reiman says that the female driver in the gold car had head lacerations and was transported to Faith Regional Health Service. The gold car also hit the Community Pantry, but did not cause any damage according to officials. Sergeant Reiman says that the driver of the gold car will also get a violation for running the red light. Officials aren’t sure at this time if seatbelts were worn. Norfolk Police Department, Norfolk Fire and Rescue and the Nebraska State Patrol assisted in the accident.
