Two Injured in Highway 91 Accident

LINDSAY - A two vehicle accident on Highway 91 sent two people to the hospital on Thursday. Platte County Sheriff Ed Wemhoff says in a press release that they received a report of the accident, 4 miles east of Lindsay, at approximately 1:43 p.m. The investigation indicated that Kyle Stone, 19, of Newman Grove, was driving eastbound on Highway 91 in a Pontiac Grand Prix, when he attempted to turn around at the intersection of 385th Avenue, says Wemhoff. While Stone was attempting the turn around, a Ford F150 being driven by Lyndon Stone, 27, of Lindsay, contacted the rear of the Pontiac, says Wemhoff. Both vehicles reportedly ended up in the south ditch after the accident. Both drivers were transported to Boone County Health Center in Albion, with both Humphrey and Lindsay Rescue responding to the scene, says Wemhoff. Reports say damage to the Pontiac was estimated at $15,000, while damage to the pickup was estimated at $5,000. The accident remains under investigation, says Wemhoff.
