Two Felonies Heard in Thursday’s District Court

CUSTER COUNTY—Two felony cases were heard in District Court on Thursday. According to Deputy County Attorney Kayla Clark, Anthony P. Elder, 37, of California admitted to allegations in a motion to revoke probation. On May 24, he appeared in court after being arrested on a bench warrant from 2012. Elder allegedly violated probation by not returning to Nebraska after having been granted the ability to travel. He faces up to five years imprisonment and/or up to a $10,000 fine. A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing is scheduled for July 19.

Sentencing for David T. Lynch Jr. was continued. In February, Judge Karin Noakes found Lynch Jr., 27, guilty of third degree domestic assault, terroristic threats, and child abuse (all class IIIA felonies) after he pled no contest as part of a plea agreement. Sentencing was continued back in March and has now been continued until July 19.
