Thunderstorm Damages Albion

ALBION - A thunderstorm hit Albion on Friday, knocking down trees and leaving the city with no power. Although a tornado did not touch down in Boone County, the residents were advised to take shelter around 8:00 p.m. as the thunderstorm was moving towards the city. At one point in the evening, the power went down and left Albion in the dark for 30 minutes. A few tree limbs were knocked down and carried by damaging winds that reached 85 miles/hour. One of these incidents blocked Walnut Street right by the corner of Fourth Street. Fortunately,  no major accidents were reported with the Albion Police Department.
