Thinking Ahead: BB School Board Meets for Work Session
School board and administration discuss strategic plan amongst other items at Monday's work session in Broken Bow

BROKEN BOW— The Broken Bow School Board discusses items for the future. At Monday night’s work session, the School Board focused on the district strategic plan, board self-evaluations, teacher negotiations, and the superintendent contract. No decisions were made.

Director of Operations and Maintenance Joe Shea presented a wish list of facility housekeeping items. Shea told the board he will continue to ask for an AC in the activities building and that the building is in need of gutter cleaning and some paint. He also discussed with the board the possibility of new flooring in the band room, cafeteria windows, and new paint in the preschool, which will be covered by a grant. Tom Bailey and Ryan Hogue touched on trees near the track that may need to be removed in the future due to possible disease.

Board President Carl French said he believes the 2018-2019 budget and teacher negotiations are tied together and would like to discuss the budget at the next school board meeting. A cost per pupil analysis was also requested by the board as it moves into future budget discussions.

At the end of the work session the School Board scheduled the next regular meeting for Tuesday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m.
