Team Jack Radiothon on KCNI

A few years ago, the state of Nebraska was introduced to a young boy from Atkinson, NE named Jack Hoffman who was diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer. As Jack continued to fight this disease, a special relationship developed between he and the Nebraska football team, in particular Husker running back Rex Burkhead. Pretty soon, young Jack was almost as well known across the state and country as the Husker players he admired. In an effort to promote the fight against pediatric brain cancer, the Team Jack Foundation was created. Thursday (9/14), KCNI radio will join other radio stations across the state for the 5th annual Team Jack Radiothon presented by the Home Agency. The broadcast will originate live from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Student Union and will air on KCNI 1280 AM, 96.3 FM, and kcni1280.com beginning at 9AM. The radiothon will be highlighted by over 25 family and children stories affected by this disease and celebrity involvement. Guest interviews are scheduled with Rex Burkhead, Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly and current Washington Redskin and former Husker Spencer Long. Tune in, donate, and join the fight.
