Tailgate Party Raises Money, Awareness for NCHS

NORFOLK - Watching Husker football with family, it’s about as Nebraskan as a tradition gets. On Saturday, a Norfolk organization used the Husker game to help support a family tradition of their own. The Nebraska Children’s Home Society hosted a Husker Hometown Tailgate on Saturday. The event raised funds and awareness for the group that has been focused on helping the children of Nebraska since the late 19th century. Organizers say the NCHS helps support northeast Nebraskans with adoption services, pregnancy help and becoming a foster family. Norfolk’s NCHS office is one of eight statewide, and officials say they are always trying to fill a growing need for children’s services. They say events like Saturday’s are a good way to help ensure all children get to enjoy their own family traditions in Nebraska.
