SUV Nearly Hits Home After Driving Through 4 Lawns

COLUMBUS - Columbus Police reports say an SUV drove through four lawns, before nearly crashing into a home on Monday evening. CPD reports say a man was traveling in his 2004 Ford Expedition eastbound on the 3000 block of 13th Street, when slick roads caused him to leave the roadway towards the south. Once the man left the roadway, reports say he accidentally hit the gas, instead of the brake, and proceeded to drive through 4 lawns. The vehicle came to rest just north of home, and was stopped after driving through a row of bushes that lined the west side of the yard. Damage to the vehicle and the property was estimated to be relatively minor. The accident took place at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Monday. More snow is expected to fall in Columbus, Monday afternoon and evening, which could make previously cleared roads slick.
