Stuff Your Belly This Weekend With Numerous Lunches And Dinners

If you don’t want to cook this weekend, there are lunches and suppers both Saturday and Sunday! Area organizations will be having everything from soup and sandwiches to an entire turkey feast. Some of the events are fundraisers for the organizations and others are annual events!

Make plans this weekend at one or all of these lunches and suppers:

Mason City Veterans Day Soup Supper
Date: Saturday, November 13
Time: 5-8 PM
Where: Community Hall Mason City (463 Main St.)
Details: Free will donation. Serving a variety of soups, sandwiches, and deserts. All proceeds to be used for Mason City community improvements

Anselmo VFD Soup and Pie Supper
Date: Saturday, November 13
Time: 6-8:30 PM
Where: Anselmo Fire Hall
Details: Serving five different soups and a variety of pie. Proceed go to the Anselmo Volunteer Fire Department.

Sargent UMC Turkey Dinner To-Go
Date: Sunday, November 14
Time: 11 AM – 1 PM
Where: Sargent United Methodist Church (208 2nd Street)
Details: The annual turkey dinner will be drive thru style. Please call in orders to Dolly Grause at (308) 215-0200. Meals will include: turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry gelatin, salad, dinner roll and a pumpkin bar. Traffic will flow going northbound on 2nd street. Cost: Adults: $7, Children 6-12: $4, 5 and under: Free

Broken Bow Santa Cop Drive-Thru Lunch
Date: Sunday, November 14
Time: 12 PM – 2 PM
Where: St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (South E St. & South 14th Ave.)
Details: The lunch includes homemade soups with crackers and cookies and to-go containers will be available. Like last year, people will be able to pull up to the Parish Center and get their meals to go.

This is a free will offering event with all proceeds going to the Santa Cop project, which brings holiday gifts to Custer County kids in need. It is one of the largest projects sponsored by the Custer County Salvation Army each year.

Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to make a donation to Santa Cop is asked to make checks payable to Santa Cop and mail them to Julie Toline, 116 S 11th Avenue, Broken Bow, NE 68822.

The Santa Cop Soup Lunch is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Custer County Salvation Army, Grocery Kart, Broken Bow Police Department, Custer County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol.

Arcadia UMC Turkey Dinner
Date: Sunday, November 14
Time: 5 PM – 8 PM
Where: Arcadia United Methodist Church (235 Reynolds St.)
Details: The United Methodist Church is Arcadia will have their annual fall supper which will include turkey, dressing, and ham.
