State Patrol Arrests Norfolk Man Following Standoff Near Hoskins

NORFOLK — A Norfolk man is behind bars following a six-hour long standoff near Hoskins. The Nebraska State Patrol announced in a news release Thursday that they arrested 27-year-old Davion Seizys of Norfolk early Thursday morning. The arrest was made at 55833 853rd Road in Wayne County, about five miles northwest of Hoskins. The Wayne County Sheriff’s office attempted to execute an arrest warrant for Seizys following a failure to appear in Madison County court. After the attempted arrest, the suspect barricaded himself in the second floor of the house. The State Patrol set up a perimeter around the property and started SWAT procedures at approximately 7:00 PM. The State Patrol says there were weapons present in the home and they believed the suspect could have been in possession of the weapons during the standoff. Seizys refused to exit the residence for several hours, so the SWAT team breached the door to gain entry. They were able to take Seizys into custody without further incident around 1:30 AM on Thursday. The news release says the State Patrol utilized K9 units, a helicopter and a robot during the standoff. Seizys was turned over to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
