State Golfers Playing Through The Rain

COLUMBUS - Despite less than favorable conditions, the Class B Girls Golf Championship is underway in Columbus. The two-day tournament began at Quail Run Golf Course earlier this morning, and weather-permitting is scheduled to finish tomorrow afternoon. NSAA officials at the course say that the second day would be cancelled only if the course receives a tremendous amount of overnight rainfall, or if there is lightning during play tomorrow. If the second day of the tournament were to be cancelled, than the team and individual in first place after day one would be awarded with the state championships. As of this writing, Omaha Duchesne Academy leads the team scoring at +19, followed by Gering at +35, Elkhorn at +46, and Scottsbluff at +60. Individually at the moment, Anna Boor of Omaha Duchesne Academy leads at +1 through 4 holes, Emily Karmazin of Elkhorn is +2 through 4, and Bridget Duffy of Omaha Duchesne Academy is +3 through 9. Columbus Lakeview currently is in 11th place in team scoring at +101, and Olivia Engel is tied for 32nd place individually at +19 through 13.
