South Sioux City Drone Helps Capture Suspects

A pair of suspects who fled from police are behind bars thanks to the help of a drone. The South Sioux City Police posted a video on their Facebook page showing the pursuit. Police say a vehicle refused a traffic stop on Monday morning. The car then drove around the Covington Links Golf Course property and caused extensive damage. The driver and passenger couldn’t find a way out of the golf course so they fled on foot into a cornfield. A perimeter was established and the South Sioux City Drone was called out to assist. The passenger was located by the drones Thermal Camera. The passenger, Tammy L. Huffman, was arrested for obstructing a peace officer. The driver was apprehended by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and identified as Dexter No Ear. He was arrested for stop sign violation, expired registration, driving under suspension, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, obstructing a peace officer, felony criminal mischief, and possession of a controlled substance. The Dakota County Sherrif’s Office and Sioux City Police Department assisted in the pursuit.
