South Loup, Twin Loup and Mullen Advance in State Football Playoffs

South Loup advanced to the Class D1 state football quarterfinals with a 36-22 victory over Elm Creek. South Loup quarterback Jack Rush ran 119 yards and 2 touchdowns and threw for 130 yds and 2 touchdowns. The 2 touchdowns went to Jace Connell who finished with 71 receiving yards. The game was tied 22-22 entering the 4th quarter until Jack Rush broke loose for a 51 yd. touchdown run to put South Loup up by 8. Later in the quarter, Rush would score on a 4 yd TD run to put the Bobcats up 36-22 which would be the final. South Loup will host CWCE in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. CWCE defeated Kenesaw 27-7

Twin Loup cruised past Paxton 51-6 in their 2nd round matchup in Class D2. Alex Horky had 4 rushing TD’s plus a 60 yd. punt return for a touchdown while quarterback Rowdy Oxford threw a 62 yd TD pass to Hunter Kraus and a 15 yd TD pass to Colten Brown to lead the offensive attack. The Wolves advance to the quarterfinals where they will meet Blue Hill who was a 49-20 winner over North Central.

The Mullen Broncos went on the road to defeat Giltner 53-8. The Broncos advance to the D2 quarterfinals and will host Lawrence-Nelson who defeated Garden County 26-14.
