South Loup Girls and Boys Claim Wins over Sandhills/Thedford

In games broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM Thursday night, the South Loup girls improved to 9-1 on the season with a 41-25 victory over Sandhills/Thedford. It was a very tight game through 3 quarters with Sandhills/Thedford leading by 1 at halftime and South Loup leading 28-25 at the end of the 3rd quarter. But in the fourth, Sandhills/Thedford was held scoreless and South Loup outscored the Lady Knights 13-0 in the final 8 minutes. South Loup was led by Jessie Sallach who finished with a game high 14 points and Shaylee Jones added 12 for the Lady Bobcats. Sandhills/Thedford was led by Hannah Christie and Hannah Higgins who each finished with 7 points.

The South Loup boys won their 6th in a row with a 68-50 win over Sandhills/Thedford. Sandhills/Thedford fought hard throughout. The score was South Loup 38 Sandhills/Thedford 34 in the 3rd quarter when South Loup put together a 16-4 run to close out the quarter and seize control of the game. The Bobcats had 3 players finish in double figures. Jack Rush led all scorers with 22 points. Kalen Dockweiler finished with 18 points and Cade Connell had 15 for the victorious Bobcats. Riggin Anderson had 16 points and Tyler Swisher finished with 12 to lead the way for Sandhills/Thedford.
