Opening round matches in the Loup Valley Division of the MNAC volleyball tournament were played last night in Callaway. The evening began with Anselmo-Merna defeating Twin Loup in straight sets 25-18, 25-21 followed by Brady winning over Stapleton in straight sets 25-6, 25-11. AM advanced to face the top seed South Loup. South Loup took the opening set 25-14. AM would fight back in the second set. After fighting off 3 match points against them, the Lady Coyotes tied the match at a set a piece by winning the 2nd 29-27. In the third, South Loup would prevail 25-16. With the win, the Lady Bobcats improved to 20-1 on the season and advance to the MNAC semifinals on Saturday in North Platte. The final match featured Brady taking on the second seed Ansley/Litchfield. The two split the first two sets with Brady winning the first 25-23 and Ansley/Litchfield winning the second 25-18. In the third, Brady grabbed an early lead and never let go winning 25-16. Brady advances to the MNAC semifinals.
