BROKEN BOW–Broken Bow Sixpence (Custer County) recently donated over $450 to the Broken Bow Public Library. The money was used to purchase reading material for both children and adults exploring emotions, self-regulation, and mental health. These materials will be available for check-out for patrons of the library.

Broken Bow Sixpence (Custer County) is a partnership between Broken Bow Public Schools and Central Plains Center for Services. Sixpence promotes high-quality early care and learning opportunities that help parents guide the healthy development of their infants and toddlers.

By investing in the early years, Sixpence ensures that children in Nebraska have the best opportunity to succeed in school and throughout life. Parent educators meet parents in their homes to coach and encourage them in their ongoing journey learning about child development and how best to nurture and strengthen their family.

Broken Bow Sixpence (Custer County) also provides additional supports beyond the personalized home visits. Monthly socializations bring community resources and enrichment opportunities to families in a group setting. In addition, the parent educators hold classes in Love and Logic and Circle of Security throughout the year.
