Single Vehicle Accident Sends Driver To The Hospital With Injuries

ACCIDENT— A Broken Bow woman was injured after the car she was driving crashed near her home. According to the accident report from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Connie Ulmer, 50 of Broken Bow, was traveling south down Lillian Road on Friday, January 29 a little after 2 PM when the vehicle began to drift toward the east shoulder then overcorrected and drove into the western ditch.

The report states that the vehicle, a 2020 Ford Expedition, struck a metal post, marking the culvert, continued deeper into the ditch, and then struck a tree. The force of the impact spun the vehicle around where it was then facing northeast.

The report indicates the vehicle was traveling approximately 40 mph when it left the roadway and went into the ditch. Ulmer was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but the airbags deployed in the vehicle. Ulmer was transported to Melham Medical Center by the Broken Bow Ambulance Service.

The vehicle was listed as totaled with the entire vehicle being damaged in the crash.
