A significant storm system is expected this weekend with snow, rain and strong winds expected. Heavy, wet snow is expected across far western Nebraska, especially in the Panhandle.
Accumulating, heavy wet snow is expected with accumulations greater than 4″ possible later Saturday into Sunday across the Nebraska Panhandle and possibly the western Sandhills. Strong winds from the east to northeast will be a concern along with snow. For areas to the east across north central, southwest, and portions of central Nebraska, a cold rain, with an eventual changeover to wet snow could occur.
Peak wind gusts could reach between 35 to 40 mph in Broken Bow, 40 to 45 mph in Burwell, and 35 to 40 miles per hour in Stapleton Saturday through Sunday.
