Shopko has decided to liquidate all of the remaining stores after being unable to find a buyer. The store manager in Broken Bow confirmed that on the morning of Monday, March 18, Shopko had made the decision to liquidate all remaining merchandise and stores.

Shopko had filed for bankruptcy previously, but had plans of only closing certain stores in hopes of finding a buyer. After being unable to find a buyer, all stores will now close.

Gordon Brothers will be organizing the closings where they are looking to have an orderly and smooth closing transition. According to their website, Gordon Brothers has helped lenders operating companies, advisors, and investors move forward through change. This change will be a big one as Shopko was previously operating around 350 stores which will now come to a close in the next 10-12 weeks.

There are 24 Shopko stores open in Nebraska, some of which were already set to close, locations include:

Ainsworth, Albion, Alliance, Auburn, Beatrice, Bellevue, Broken Bow, Falls City, Gothenburg, Grand Island, Holdrege, Lincoln (3), Norfolk, North Platte, O’Neill, Omaha (2), Plattsmouth, Superior, Valentine, Wayne, West Point
