Several Cars Shot While Driving in Columbus

COLUMBUS - Police are on the lookout, and ask the public to keep an eye out, as car windows continue to get shot out around town. Columbus Police received 5 reports throughout the day, Tuesday, of vehicle windows being shot out, two of them while a person was driving the vehicle.  Damage was estimated at a total of $1,600 to repair windows on all five vehicles, according to police. CPD say one reported he was driving to work, and the other reported they were driving southbound on 35th Avenue when their windows were shot out. The other three vehicles were reportedly damaged on the 3600 block of 16th Street, the 2300 block of 16th Street, and a county employees vehicle was shot out on the 2600 block of 14th Street. Police are asking anyone who see a person or persons with a BB gun to report it to police. Columbus Police Captain Todd Thalken says shooting a BB gun within city limits is illegal, and says there is a strong possibility that at least some of the cases are related.
