Semi Hit Power Pole Dodging 12th Ave. Traffic

COLUMBUS - A semi driver told police the reason he damaged a utility pole, was because he was avoiding a collision. CPD reports say a 23-year-old semi driver told police he was eastbound on 15th Street and in the process of turning north, at the 12th Avenue intersection, when a southbound vehicle began approaching the intersection. The semi driver told police, that to avoid an accident, he attempted to turn sharper and struck the utility pole on the northeast corner of the intersection. The damage to the pole was estimated at $400, and damage to the semi trailer was estimated at $500, according to reports. The accident occurred at Tuesday afternoon at roughly 3:00 p.m.
