COLUMBUS - An overturned semi truck was one of the many pieces of property damaged in Friday nights storm.
The storm moving across the state hit Columbus at around 9 p.m. The Columbus air port measured gusts around 59 miles per hour, and several trees were left damaged after the storm moved through.
Heavy winds knocked down power lines, leaving about 300 people without power for roughly an hour late Friday night in Columbus, says Loup Power President Neal Suess.
As a result of the heavy winds a semi truck heading west bound on highway 30 was overturned. The National Weather Service reported 80 mph wind gusts in Duncan. There was no injuries reported but estimated $35,000 in damages to the truck.
The NWS reported just under an inch of rain fell in Columbus. The surrounding area saw just over an inch to 2 inches.
