Schuyler Man Accused of Strangling Woman

SCHUYLER, Neb. - A woman has accused a Schuyler man of getting violent with her on two separate occasions, saying she was strangled at one point. 20-year-old Luis De Anda Ortiz is charged with felony strangulation, and misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief. Records say in December of 2017, De Anda Ortiz hit the woman before strangling her on a bed. The next day the woman had a red eye, due to a popped blood vessel, possibly caused by being strangled, according to documents. Around four weeks later, De Anda Ortiz punched the woman in the face after he sneaked into her house via a window, records say. De Anda Ortiz is due in court on February 6th.
