Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP) Recipient List Released For Chadron State College

Chadron State College has announced the names of 22 incoming Nebraska students who have been accepted in the Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP) as participants and three alternates.

According to Director of Health Professions Kristal Kuhnel, CSC and University of Nebraska Medical Center officials who interviewed and selected the students are pleased with them and confident they have an understanding of the rigorous requirements of the program, as well as a commitment to return to rural Nebraska after they graduate.

Students selected as participants in the program receive a full tuition scholarship to CSC and take pre-professional training at CSC with guaranteed pre-admittance to one of the UNMC sites, if they meet the program’s standards. Dental students will take advanced training at Lincoln, the nursing students at Scottsbluff, dental hygiene students at Gering, and all the others in Omaha. According to Kuhnel, alternates often become participants before completing their time at CSC.
