Rotary Looking For Donations To Help Raise Flag

CUSTER COUNTY—The Broken Bow Area Rotary Club is looking for help to raise one of the largest American flags in Central Nebraska. With a flagpole that will measure 80 feet off of the ground and a flag measuring from 20ft by 30ft, it will be a welcoming beacon to Custer County.

The money will be used to not only purchase the pole and flag, but to also have a backup flag if the original flag needs to be sent in for repairs. The cost of the project will be approximately $10,000, with the hope of raising the flag by the Mid-States Rodeo Finals in September, which is held in Broken Bow at the Custer County Fairgrounds.

“It’s a lot of fun to be a part of because, its local and it’s something that everyone is going to see and that is the neat part about Rotary, is it’s everything from your back door to around the world,” said Trish McCarron

Any donations can be sent to the Broken Bow Area Rotary, PO Box 24 68822, or if there are any questions please contact Trish McCarron at (308) 870-3677.
