ALLIANCE - The panhandle is seeing the earliest effects of Winter Storm Jaxon, as highways across the panhandle are covered in snow, says the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Snow is expected to start falling in areas like Broken Bow between 4  and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday with travel expected to be very difficult by this evening. Towns like Scottsbluff, Alliance, Sidney, and Chadron are in the middle of Jaxon Sunday afternoon. Areas south of Interstate 80 are still clear, as of 2:15 p.m., says the NDOT.
