Nebraska’s Department of Transportation is reporting extreme caution on roads primarily in the panhandle and southwest Nebraska while most eastern Nebraska roads are at least partially covered in snow. .

A majority of Nebraska’s highways are dealing with limited visibility, due to high winds and blowing snow. Snow amount totals were downgraded for most of northeast and east-central Nebraska overnight, but blowing snow could make the morning commute more difficult.

According to the National Weather Service, the winter storm has shifted its impact to primarily southeast Nebraska where 4 to 6 inches is expected from Nebraska City to Falls City. Road conditions are expected to continue deteriorating this morning as rain mixes to snow in southeast Nebraska.
