HARTINGTON - The trial of a northeast Nebraska mayor accused of sexually assaulting a child is being pushed back.
According to court documents, the pre-trial hearing that was scheduled Monday morning in Cedar County District Court for 61-year old Dwayne Schutt has been continued.
Schutt faces four counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of child abuse. He was arrested in August, accused of molesting a child age 14 or younger on four occasions between 2011 and 2013, according to court documents.
He has served as the mayor of Randolph since 2011.
A new date for his pre-trial hearing has not been set. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
