Ramada Burglar, Connected to Burglaries in 5 Other Cities

COLUMBUS - A burglar who was arrested in the middle of a break-in at a Columbus hotel, appears to be connected to burglaries in David City, York, Lincoln, Valley, and North Platte. Columbus Police state in an arrest affidavit, that Johnathan Mally, 32, was arrested during a burglary in progress at the Ramada in southern Columbus, on October 24th. Police say after the arrest, they determined parts on Mally's 2014 Chevy pickup, had been taken off of a stolen 2016 Chevy pickup out of Lincoln, and installed onto his own truck. The stolen and installed items included a bumper, grill, headlight assembly, seats, and console, all valued at approximately $13,888.53, say CPD. Police say the stolen 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, was reportedly taken on October 17th from a Lincoln dealership, and was later found in David City after being burned. In Malley's 2014 Chevy pickup, Police also found stolen tools from a burglary in Valley, as well as tools, a checkbook and blank checks from a burglary in York, check blanks from a burglary in David City, and a key to a Snap On Tool Chest that was stolen in North Platte, say CPD in the affidavit. Police say they also found 3.8 grams of meth in the center console, along with a glass pipe. Malley is scheduled for a first appearance in Platte County Court on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
