Rain Ends State Golf Tournament Early

COLUMBUS - Despite their best efforts, the NSAA was forced to end the Girls Class B Golf Championship early on Tuesday due to the weather conditions. After being able to successfully complete day one of the tournament on Monday, day two began as normally scheduled this morning at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus. NSAA officials tried to keep play going as long as possible, but the continued down pouring of rain caused the rest of the day to be canceled around noon today. Due to the second day of the tournament being incomplete, the team and individual leaders after the first day were awarded with the Class B State Championships in a ceremony outside the Quail Run clubhouse. Omaha Duchesne Academy came away with the team State Championship with a combined team score of 330, while Gering came in second place with a score of 360. The top 15 individuals were all awarded medals, and the individual Class B State Champion was Anna Boor of Omaha Duchesne Academy. Boor earned the victory after a round one score of 74, and second place went to Danica Badura of Aurora with a score of 77. The Class B tournament wasn't the only one to end early due to the weather, as both the Class A and Class C Golf Championships in Norfolk and North Platte, respectively, were canceled as well. Day one results were taken as final in both tournaments, as Lincoln Southwest earned the Class A State Championship, and Kearney Catholic earned the Class C State Championship. FINAL RESULTS
