2016 Mugshot: Melinda Tyler
NORFOLK — A Bloomfield woman is in jail after she was arrested on drug and disturbing the peace charges. Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer said in a news release that officers were summoned to 1414 South 3rd Street regarding a disturbance at 8:38 PM Friday night. The caller told police that 36-year-old Melinda Tyler of Bloomfield was banging on apartment doors and refusing to leave. After arriving, officers discovered Tyler had pulled a fire alarm in the building. Bauer says officers recovered a glass pipe containing meth residue when they questioned Tyler. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and cited for disturbing the peace. Tyler is being housed in the Madison County Jail. Tyler was arrested in October of 2016 after reportedly yelling and hitting the Coinstar machine in the Norfolk Wal-Mart. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace for that incident.
