Public Comment Sought for 2021 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

The Central Nebraska Economic Development District (CNEDD) is proud to announce that our 2021 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is now ready for final review and comment from the public. The CEDS can be found on CNEDD’s website at:  www.cnedd.org/ceds/

The first steps in the CEDS development process were to appoint a CEDS Strategy Committee, develop a timeline for public input, and address survey activities to identify problems and opportunities, define the vision and goals of the region, and design strategies to accomplish goals for the region’s future.

Through partnerships and direction of the CEDS Strategy Committee, a comprehensive survey of the public in the region was conducted to help identify existing conditions with goals and objectives to formulate and implement programs that will lead to the creation of higher-skill, higher-wage jobs; raise income levels; diversify the economy; and improve the quality of life, while protecting the environment.

While this document has been a year-long process, we hope you will take a few minutes to review the 2021 CNEDD Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, and want to thank the 225 participants across our region who have already provided input. We encourage you to provide public comment by Friday, July 30, 2021.

Your comments may be provided by mail to Judy Petersen, CNEDD Executive Director, P.O. Box 201, Chambers, NE  68725, or by email to [email protected]
