Police: Pregnant Woman Punched by Columbus Man

COLUMBUS, Neb. - Police say an argument led to a Columbus man assaulting a pregnant woman in a trailer. 30-year-old Ernesto Leon is charged with felony assault on a pregnant woman, plus misdemeanor obstructing a police officer and criminal mischief. Police say, Leon began arguing with a woman in the morning of January 27th and later that night he became violent, punching her three times and throwing her to the ground by her hair. The officer says he could see clumps of hair on the floor of the trailer. Leon also punched and broke a window, according to reports. Court documents say, officers arrested Leon near his residence, where he attempted to flee. He is due in court on February 7th.
