Plattsmouth man flown to Omaha hospital following one-vehicle crash

A 20-year-old man was flown to an Omaha hospital Sunday with serious injuries following a one-vehicle crash just south of Plattsmouth.

Charles I. Null of Plattsmouth was taken by helicopter to the Nebraska Medical Center, according to a Cass County Sheriff’s Office report. A hospital spokeswoman said no information on his condition is being released.

Investigators said Null was southbound on Rock Bluff Avenue just north of Horning Road about 10:30 a.m. when the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree before rolling over in a pasture on the west side of the road.

The sound of the crash alerted nearby residents, who went to investigate and found the vehicle. Plattsmouth Fire and Rescue used extrication equipment to remove Null, who was not wearing a seat belt, from the vehicle.

Deputies temporarily shut down Rock Bluff Road for the medical helicopter and the removal of the vehicle.
