A Plattsmouth man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of third-degree assault of police officers after ramming three cruisers during an attempted traffic stop.
The suspect was also booked on suspicion of making terroristic threats, third-degree domestic assault, violation of a protection order, use of deadly weapon to commit a felony, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, obstructing a police officer and resisting arrest.
No injuries were reported, according to statement from the Plattsmouth Police Department on Monday. The suspect is being held in the Cass County Jail.
The incident began when officers were called to 502 N. Eighth St. shortly after 7 a.m. on Sunday for a 30-year-old man threatening a 28-year-old female, police said. The suspect was not at the scene but was observed about 9 a.m. driving past the home in a 1994 Chevrolet Lumina.
The suspect was located in a parking lot at 906 Webster Blvd., but he refused to get out of his vehicle and drove off. The suspect was boxed in at the intersection of at Avenue C and 18th Street a short time later, police said.
He again refused to exit his car and rammed two Plattsmouth police cruisers and a Cass County Sheriff’s cruiser while driving away, police said. He was pursued and taken into custody following a struggle outside the residence where police had originally been called.
