Platte County Sheriff Investigating 50 Pounds of Nails Dumped on County Road

COLUMBUS, Neb. - The Platte County Sheriff's Office is trying to figure out who is responsible for placing around 50 pounds of nails along a county roadway. According to Sheriff Ed Wemhoff, from January 2nd to the 14th, construction nails were found on E. 14th Ave between 83rd and 280th St. The PCSO believes the nails were spread in handfuls throughout the entire section. The Highway Department was forced to close the road in order to clean up the nails. They said the nails amount to around 50 pounds. The sheriff's office is still investigating the incident.
